Sideshow Predator… Legendary Scale Figure?

It is no surprise with how popular the 1987 Predator creature design is so popular. Personally it is on of my favorite designs of all time. So it breaks my heart that I missed out on the Sideshow Collectibles Maquette and the Cinemaquette 1/3 original Predator statues. Now the prices of these pieces are too high for me to be able to convince my girlfriend that it is an investment (especially when I never seem to sell anyway).

There is always the Sideshow 1/5, but after owning their Scar Predator I felt there was no enough presence for the character.

So while on a normal day for me looking through the hundreds of videos that pop up on my daily subscribed channels I started to watch the latest video from Sideshow Collectibles. This was the Artist profile of Alfred Paredes (Video is at bottom of the page) and what I saw got me really excited.

At 4 minutes and 30 seconds the video reveals him sculpting a Predator which is undoubtedly the 1987 version and appears to be a Legendary Scale piece.

Even though this piece is likely to command between $1500-2000 from Sideshow collectibles + shipping and the 20% tax we get stung for in the UK. I would still find it extremely difficult not to add this to my collection as I am a huge fan of the movie. Watch this space!!

I stared when I was 17…so 25 years ago!!! with Model Kits from Japan and USA.
I always had this gift/talent to paint and draw well so I felt very thrilled and exited to create and build my own favorite movie characters…back then there was nothing like Sideshow or Hot Toys and stuff like that.

My favour piece I worked on is certainly my beloved Predator/s….they are my favourite creatures and no matter how many I already painted…it’s always fun but I also love gore and horror…it’s always quite challenging to create a natural looking flesh-wound or rotten meat….

There are few artists I admire but one of my favourite ones is Scott Marshal the creator of the best life-size Predator heads…and I’m happy and proud to say I have all of his heads in my collection….he is my hero 🙂

My dream piece to be made? hmmm…..actually my dream came true…for me as a huge Predator fan I have all Predator life-size heads there are except one which is the AVP Scar Predator….no one ever made this one but Scott Marshall promised to me he will make one for me so I guess that’s the last puzzle piece of my dream
